A letter during Corona Virus Lockdown
In this email from one of my closest friends, Christine Lumb philosophizes about maintaining balance, sanity and a sense of humour during self-quarantine.
Dear Marsha,
We are well here and having time, at least me, to do things in a different fashion. More time to do nothing which makes me more creative, more time to be bored, therefore impatient to be yet again more creative. So, it is a good cleansing chapter. But it can’t last for too long because we end up being too centered on oneself and that, I dislike. It is a matter of finding the right balance.
Philip (Christine’s physician husband) is very involved with reviewing a lot of medical articles. Zooms with lots of very interesting scientists and the world being in a pressure cooker at the moment, in all directions, it is vital to only publish very scientific and accurate material. Otherwise, some people may well inhale Lysol!
So, we are well and occupied in the right way and amount. The garden at this time of the year is a great joy. No plant buying therefore as I mentioned creativity is de rigueur.
Look at my loquats from the garden: I was told it is a fruit en voie d’extinction et très démodé!! (Nèfles en français, Bibasses en mauricien). I am thrilled with mon arbre démodé.
Keep well.
Christine
