“If your dreams are logical, follow them. You’ll be happier in the long run.”
This is a “motherism” from Alison Awerbuch’s mother, Yellin. Alison credits her mother’s wisdom for helping her decide the right career path decision. As Alison elaborated, “I was doing soul searching to determine whether I wanted to pursue my college pre-med studies or dive off the deep end and enter the hospitality industry which was not highly regarded (especially for women) at the time.”
Alison went on to graduate with honors from the Culinary Institute of America. Today, she is a highly respected executive chef and Partner/Executive Vice President at Abigail Kirsch Culinary Relationships. Clearly, Alison followed the right path and is happier for it.
